QUIEREN ECHAR A LOS GATOS DE LA COLONIA DE CALLE SILVA,6 EN TORROX(MÁLAGA)

Dear residents of Calle Silva and neighbouring streets,
We are the volunteers who feed, neuter and care for the street cats of Torrox including the registered colony located in Calle Silva. We know that most of the neighbours have no problem with the cat colony and are aware that all feline colonies are protected by Spanish ANIMAL WELFARE LAW 7/2023, It is therefore unlawful to damage the colony, harm the cats or indeed remove the infrastructure, food, water etc from the colony. After many months of enduring varying acts of vandalism, the latest incident has led to the total destruction of the colony including the unlawful cutting down of the tree, the removal of the feeding stations and shelters and the application of poison on the site, with the clear intention of harming the cats and destroying their habitat. As this is a crime it has been reported to both the police and the town hall and measures will be taken to identify and punish the culprits and reinstate the colony. It is great sadness that we also have to report that several cats have been found dead in the area. Therefore we ask you if you would consider signing this petition in favour of the colony in order to help us to protect the cats from further harm. Thank you in advance for your help.
The volunteers of Torrox Estimados residentes de Calle Silva y calles cercanas

Somos los voluntarios que alimentan, esterilizan y cuidan a los gatos callejeros de Torrox pueblo, que incluye la colonia oficial registrada en Calle Silva.
Sabemos que la mayoría de los vecinos no tienen ningún problema con la colonia de gatos y están conscientes del hecho de que las colonias felinas están protegidas por la Ley 7/2023 de BIENESTAR ANIMAL . Por lo tanto, es un delito causar daño a la colonia o sus residentes y quitar la infraestructura como los refugios, comida y agua etc.
Después de muchos meses sufriendo actos de vandalismo, la última ocasión ha llevado a cabo la destrucción total de la colonia, incluyendo la tala del árbol, quitar la comida, agua y los refugios con la intención clara de destruir el hábitat natural de los gatos que residen allí. Como este acto es un delito han sido informados la policía y el ayuntamiento que tomaran medidas para identificar y castigar a los responsables e reinstalar la colonia. Tristemente tenemos que informaros que han sido encontrados gatos muertos por la zona. Por lo tanto, les rogamos que consideren firmando esta petición a favor de la colonia para ayudarnos a proteger a los gatos y prevenir más daño.
